America is experiencing much economic decline throughout the country. We have all heard the term "bailout" more times that we can count and many companies have been forced to close their doors. But, if you're smart, you could take this opportunity to try something new. Many people change their career path at least a few times in their lifetime and Albuquerque is a great place to make a fresh start. Here are some options for entering a new sector of employment or going back to school.

Albuquerque accounts for nearly half of the economic activity in the state of New Mexico, with a diversified economy. If you're interested in work as a teacher or a material handling equipment manufacturer, there is a good chance you will find opportunities here. There is a significant presence in the city in government, trade, tourism, research and development, services, agriculture, and manufacturing. Albuquerque was even recently on the list as one of the best cities to do business in America in Forbes Magazine.

If you're longing to get out of the office setting, maybe doing something like working out research and development tax credits, maybe you should consider working in the agriculture trade. The Rio Grande River Valley is considered an extremely rich and fertile plot of land. Fruits and produce are among the area's main exports. The industrial parks in the city also contain factories of some of America's leading companies. General Electric and General Mills both have operations in the city.

High technology is also becoming very important to Albuquerque's economic picture. If you're looking for something more challenging than working at a Hamilton auto body shop, maybe you can find work at Sandia National Laboratories, a laser technology and solar energy lab run by the national government. The Kirtland U.S. Air Force Base is also one of the larger employers in the city.

The University of New Mexico is the largest post-secondary institution in the city. You could attend a language school Toronto, or you could attend one of the top 50 ranked medical schools in the nation at UNM. There are several other universities and colleges in this city, including Trinity Southwest University, the National American University, and Central New Mexico Community College. Between all of these fine institutions you could do anything from study the law to learn to repair damaged valves as a certified tradesperson. In short, Albuquerque is a place of endless possibilities.

As the Internet becomes more and more influential in our lives, it has become easier for companies to work with those across the globe.
